Looking for a League

We need to add to our group of men and women who regularly play golf on a weekday morning. We could do this in a League setting or just a group of men and women who are looking for someone to join them on the golf course on a regular basis.

.  Our goal is to promote fellowship and camaraderie.

.  We emphasize that men and women of all golfing skill levels are welcome.

.  We anticipate that the age range would typically be over 50.

.  Teams would be established based upon handicaps if enough people express an interest. If you do not have a handicap at this time do not let that stop you from signing up. We can work on establishing one.

.   Interested members would informally meet all weekdays at 9:00 AM  to play assuming that tee time would be available. On all days except Tuesday  there is no need to sign up.  Just show up about 8:30 AM and we pick teams and play 9 and/or 18 holes. Regular green fees and, unless walking, cart fees apply.

.  On Tuesday [or what ever day is established] we want to be formal.  Sign up on the preceding Friday by noon on the sign-up sheet or by contacting the Pro Shop staff. Teams will be picked based upon handicaps, and a nine-hole tournament is played.  A $5 fee League fee is charged and is collected by team captains. Modest cash prizes are awarded for the first, second, and third place teams. This $5 is not for Locust Valley GC but for League members to use.

.   Once per month on a Thursday, an 18 hole, shotgun start tournament is something we want to work into the League play.
